John Flowers Recovery Home (JFRH)
The JFRH is a 21-bed program located on The Dimock Center’s main campus and serves over 80 men annually. The program is overseen by a Masters Level Clinician, who works with the Counseling/Case Management and Administrative staff to meet the needs of the men living at the House.
The JFRH offers Post Detoxification services that include individual counseling, group work, case management and family stabilization. Additional services are provided through referrals to internal and external community programs. The JFRH is a “working house” and the clients are expected to find a job and begin work within one month of joining the program. The average length of stay is 4 - 6 months and a treatment fee is required on a weekly basis. The program is licensed by the Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.

Ummi’s
Ummi’s is a Transitional Housing Program for 13 women (and their children up to 14 years of age) who are living with HIV/AIDS /Mental Health and Addictions issues. The program model provides Intensive Case Management services to women and their families who meet the admission criteria.
The program accepts pregnant women and women who are on Methadone maintenance. Women and their children may live at the program from 6 to 24 months. Aftercare services are available for one year following discharge.
The program also offers an Alumni group, which meets on a monthly basis providing peer-to-peer support and relapse prevention support. The Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services, City of Boston, Department of Neighborhood Development and private donations support the program.

Sheila Daniels/Edgewood Permanent Housing
The Housing programs provides permanent housing residency for women and men in recovery who are living with HIV/AIDS and who are head of household with children. The Housing programs are located within a two mile radius of The Dimock Center in Roxbury.
A Case Manager lives on-site and is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Additional Case Management services are available during the evening hours. The programs are supported by the Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.

Residential Program for Adults with Disabilities
The Residential programs provide twenty-four hour staff coverage in community residences, providing: Case Management, Meal Preparation, Training in Daily Living Activities, Travel Training, Transportation, Coordination of all Medical Appointments, Medication Administration, Community Recreational Activities, Vacation Trips, Money Management, including Representative Payee responsibilities if necessary, and other services necessary for each resident to live successfully in a community setting.
Residents participate in a work program suitable to their needs and skill level during the day, Monday through Friday. All residents are supported and encouraged to live as independently as possible and to become active, contributing citizens in the community.
Currently the residential program operates five separate residences supporting twenty-five individuals in Roslindale, Hyde Park, Dorchester and the South End. All residences are accessible by public transportation.
Program Eligibility
Persons eligible for residential services must be at least 22 years old and have a primary diagnosis of mental retardation. Referrals are made through the Boston area office of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation, located at 65 Sprague Street, Hyde Park, MA 02136, phone number: (617) 360-2400.
All staff members are certified in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR, Crisis Management, and Medication Administration. The staffing pattern varies depending on the needs of the residents in each program. The staff to resident ratio is never less than 1:5.
